On The Road
As you are driving with your family make a game of looking at the different cars on the road around you. Try to guess where you think they live and what job they do for a living. Look for cars with stickers supporting schools or sports teams that you are rivals with. Discuss that we often judge people by their appearance just like we judge people by what car they drive. Remind your children that no matter what we see on the outside, we should always show God’s love to everyone.

Who’s A Samaritan?
Have your child list his or her favorite people at school or church and the ways that he or she treats those people. Then list his or her least favorite people and the ways that he or she treats them. Remind your child that the Samaritans and the Jews didn’t like each other, but the Samaritan helped the Jewish man anyway. Help your child plan some ways to show love to the “Samaritans” in his or her life.
